Sand-cast brass hardware and lighting from Takaoka.
Origin
Casting in Takaoka since the workshop took over a bell-foundry site in 1974. It makes its own patterns, which is unusual at this scale and is the reason it will take a drawing from an architect.
In the workshop
Sand-cast in green sand, fettled and polished by hand. Nothing is lacquered; a patina is applied or it is left bright.
Materials
Cast brass, bronze, waxed steel.
